Dog Training – Teach Your Dog to Come When Called
I want to talk to you today about something that is absolutely necessary to teach the dog. This is a very basic foundation skill for all dogs to learn, but how many people are taught incorrectly.
I speak, of course, teaching your dog to come when called.
On the surface, come on, it appears that a very simple operation. I mean, what is it, really? You call your dog and the dog comes to you.
In reality, however, the teaching ‘come’ very complex, and therefore in (this may be why fighting is when you try to teach your dog, by the way) …
Come requires that in addition to the dog’s natural instinct to run and chase, and instead going for you.
Teaching ‘come’, it is important not only because it can save a dog’s life, but also because if the learned knowledge, it means, take the dog anywhere. Are you sure that the dog park, you can take to the dog beach and not have to worry about, because the dog comes when you call – the first time and every time.
It can be very useful to actually teach the dog how to ‘come’ in accordance with a second and I will tell you can watch some videos that will guide you through the process step by step.
So do not give up even a second, while we covered the basics, okay?
Now, the best way to teach come to think that the dog is.
Dogs love to investigate. But of course, curious. Encouraged them to people, animals, and things that move.
So you can not bribe or force the dog to come when you run free!
Instead, be the leader. To be more important than anything else, and teach your dog to ‘Follow me.’ What does this mean? Well, in this case: ‘Follow me’ means that if I say, come on, my dog running to me no matter what else is happening around him.
Fortunately, our dog several times throughout the day. And every time the dog comes to you, this is an opportunity to demonstrate that positive things happen when you’re not.
For example, if the dog comes to you, say ‘Good Boy’ or ‘Good Girl’ and praise them. Can play with her favorite toy, if you are near me.
The point is, I would like to know the dog that when you choose me more than anything else, and get a reward.
Along the same lines, the dog will never ask you to come and give them a bath, or clip the nails, or anything else, you know your dog does not like.
And most importantly, let’s say your dog runs away. Never call the dog, yell at them and then run in the first place. No, no, no! I never do.
If the dog is running free – and believe me, I know you’re upset at this point – when the dog comes to you, you need to be happy and to praise them.
Think about it – and then someone comes who is angry or sullen? No. And if someone does not come, and then you shout, I want to come to them again?
Of course not.
So if the dog is running free, and you fear, what I want, that is, even if you’re scared, you can use a happy voice. You may run the opposite way, or make a strange noise, or turn to the page. In short, make it fun to come to you!
And then praise them.
Catch your dog doing something good! It works. Try it.
